霜降Frost’s Descent

“山明水净夜来霜，数树深红出浅黄”，霜降是二十四节气的第18个节气，天气渐寒始于霜降，作为秋季的最后一个节气，意味着初冬即将开始。

霜降有三候

元代文人吴澄在《月令七十二候集解》中，将霜降分为三候：一候豺乃祭兽，二候草木黄落，三候蛰虫咸俯。霜降时节，豺狼开始大量捕获猎物，准备储藏过冬；秋风一阵紧似一阵，最后一片黄叶也随着大自然的一生叹息悄然落下，无声地归于尘土，实现了它落叶归根的宿命；昆虫在自己精心打造的洞穴里，犹如睡着了一般，耷拉着脑袋不食不动，以最舒适的姿势，安然进入冬眠状态，耐心等待下一个春天的到来。

Wu Cheng, a scholar in Yuan Dynasty, divided Frost's descent into three seasons in his collection of the seventy-two seasons of the Lunar Season: the first is a jackal offering sacrifice to the beast, the second is a yellow fall of grass and trees, and the third is a stinging insect. When the frost comes, the jackals begin to hunt down their prey in large quantities and store it for the winter. 吃柿子

“漫山枫叶红，层林柿正香”，有些地方，霜降时节要吃柿子，即能补充维生素，还能满足口腹之欲，是非常不错的霜降食品。

送芋鬼

在广东高明一带，霜降时节有“送芋鬼”的习俗。人们会用瓦片或土块堆砌成河内塔，在塔里放柴点燃，等到瓦片烧红后，再将河内塔推倒，用烧红的瓦片热熟芋头或红薯，叫做“打芋煲”。最后将瓦片或土块丢到村外，称作“送芋鬼”，以这样的方式逢凶化吉。
